Eglantyne Jebb Society

"Humanity owes the child the best it has to give." -Eglantyne Jebb

In 1919 an extraordinary and compassionate woman, Eglantyne Jebb, founded Save the Children in Great Britain to help starving orphans in post-World War I Austria. Thirteen years later, in 1932 during the Great Depression, Save the Children was established in the United States to help children in rural Appalachia.

Over the decades, millions of children's lives have been saved and millions more improved because of the vision, dedication and generosity of people who chose to make a difference through their support. By including Save the Children in your estate plans, you can make sure this vital work continues.

Save the Children established the Eglantyne Jebb Society to acknowledge the compassionate philanthropy of individuals who remember Save the Children in their estate plans. Once you notify us that you have included Save the Children in your will or as a beneficiary in any other disposition of assets, including charitable trusts and gift annuities, we will honor your legacy of commitment to children in need through membership in the Eglantyne Jebb Society.
